How to Make an Air-Powered Marshmallow Gun
Whether you're game is cops and robbers or cowboys and Indians, an air-powered marshmallow gun can make play more enjoyable. An air-powered marshmallow gun or shooter is easy to create and makes a perfect gift for those with limited budgets. With adult supervision, kids can create their own marshmallow gun. Stage a make-believe fight with multicolored marshmallows and a PVC gun. Gather a few simple supplies for a toy that can provide hours of satisfaction.
Things You'll Need
- 10 feet of 1/2-inch PVC pipe, drinking water grade
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Hacksaw
- 2 non-threaded PVC "L" joints
- 2 non-threaded PVC "T" joints
- 2 PVC end caps
- Razor knife
- Coarse sandpaper
- Mini marshmallows

Mark four 3-inch sections of PVC pipe and cut into pieces with a hacksaw. Set the pieces aside. Measure and cut two 5-inch pieces of the PVC and set aside. Measure and cut one 7-inch piece of the PVC pipe

Place two of the 5-inch pieces horizontally in front of you. Place two 3-inch pieces between them, horizontally. The arrangement should look like a set of stairs. Lay the 7-inch piece next to the 5-inch piece that is positioned the farthest from you. Put a 3-inch piece of PVC horizontally next the 3-inch piece that is closest to you, forming a U shape. Below the horizontal 3-inch PVC piece lay another 3-inch piece. The outline should resemble a basic automatic weapon shape.

Set out the connector pieces. Put an "L" joint next to the 5-inch piece of PVC that is closest to you. Place another "L" joint to the right of the horizontal 3-inch PVC piece. Put one "T" joint to the left of the 3-inch horizontal piece, and another joint to the right of the 7-inch piece. Line up the end caps at the two vertical 3-inch pieces that are the furthest from you.

Fit your gun together. Squeeze the joint and end cap pieces over the pipe pieces. Trim around the raw edges of the two exposed ends with a razor knife. Sand the edges smooth. Place mini marshmallows in the top part of the air gun and blow through the barrel.

Tips & Warnings
Collapse your air gun by removing all the joint pieces.
Keep small children away from small parts like end cap pieces and mini marshmallows as they pose as a choking hazard.
