How to Paint Bark Texture
Textured walls give visual interest and detail to a room. Thanks to the wide variety of products and tools available for painting textures on walls, you can easily create bark texture with a bark texture roller and a texture coating wall paint. You can purchase a ready-made texture product or a powder to mix with water and color with regular latex wall paint. Textured coatings are good for interior and exterior painting. Prepare your room for painting by covering furniture and the floor with drop sheets, removing electrical outlet covers and masking off trim and edges with painter's tape.

Apply a generous strip of textured coating about 2 feet wide to your wall with a paint roller or brush. Cut in around the edges with a paint brush.

Roll a bark texture tool over the wet coating to create the bark texture on the wall.

Paint and texture another strip next to the first, blending the seam between the two strips first before texturing the rest of the section. Work quickly so you are always working with wet coating.

Continue working in sections until you cover the entire area.

Try experimenting with improvised materials, like a string wrapped around a roller, to create your own custom textures.
Make sure your work area is well-ventilated while you work and until the paint has dried.
