How to Make a Rolling Ball Toy
Dogs love to play fetch and are hard on their toys, especially puppies. Dog toys and balls can add up as a hefty extra expense when you are replacing them often. Clean out your drawers for old socks and make sock balls for your pet to play with. In less than five minutes you can have a new toy for your dog.

Roll the socks into each other. Roll two or three socks into each other. Lay the socks on top of one another. Fold the tip of one sock over the other sock's and start rolling them into a tight ball. For larger dogs start with five socks. The important thing to remember is the ball should be larger than their swallowing capability. Socks that are too ratty and that have many strings should not be the "roller" or "outside sock" to prevent a choking hazard for the dog.

If you are making several ball toys use a sewing machine to save time. Secure the open end with a few strong stitches. The ball should not come undone.
