Singer 221 Bobbin Case Removal

A bobbin case is frequently removed and reinserted during sewing machine use.

The bobbin case of a sewing machine holds the bobbin in place while you are operating the sewing machine. The bobbin case of a sewing machine needs to be removed in order to replace or refill the bobbin with new thread. Each brand of sewing machine is a little different in the way that it functions and is used. Similarly, removing a bobbin case from each sewing machine is a little different. Learning to remove a bobbin case from a Singer 221 sewing machine is an important part of using the machine.

Instructions

1. Lift the take-up lever on the Singer 221 sewing machine. Turn the balance wheel toward you. As you wheel moves toward you, the lever will move up. Raise the lever until it is at its highest point.

2. Raise the bed extension as far as it will go.

3. Lift the latch on the front of the bobbin case. Remove the bobbin case and bobbin from the Singer sewing machine.
