How to Write a Ten Year Nursing Resume
Nurses with 10 years of experience who are looking for a new position must carefully write a resume that reflects their achievements and their many years in the field. Demand for nurses is increasing, but so is competition for the best-paying jobs. With a good ten-year nursing resume, solid work experience and a desire to help others, you have a good chance to land a competitive nursing position.

Write your name, appropriate designations and contact information at the top center of your resume. Use a 12- to 14-point font and put only your name in bold lettering.

State your objective. Nurses with 10 years of experience must specify their career goals. If you want to manage a pediatric care unit, for example, write, "Managerial position in a pediatric care unit."

Decide what your best qualifications are for the position and state them in a five- to 10-line qualifications summary. When you write, use active verbs as much as you can.

Proceed with an experience section. Use bold letters for the section heading, and include all of your nursing positions for the past 10 years.

Create a section to list your education and licensing. Use bold letters for the section heading. List your nursing degrees, licensing information and continuing education classes. Do not include clinical rotations if you have 10 years' experience in nursing.

List any volunteer activities, professional associations, computer skills and other activities or abilities relevant to the position.
