Nylon is a synthetic fiber used in clothing, rope, fabrics and carpets. Nylon is characterized as durable, resilient, and resistant to insects, animals, mildew and rot. Although nylon is durable and resistant, it is susceptible to stains from liquids, mud, wax, blood, and many more substances. Care should be taken when cleaning and handling nylon. Use a few common household items to clean stains from a nylon jacket.
Step 1
Blot liquid stains with a clean paper towel.

Scrape away dried stains using the edge of a dull knife. Wedge the knife under the hardened material, and pull up.
Step 3
Spot treat the stain using a mild liquid detergent. Moisten a paper towel, and place 2 to 3 drops of liquid detergent on it.
Step 4
Rub the stain with the moistened paper towel. Rub in a circular motion to work the stain out of the fabric.
Step 5
Determine if the fabric is machine washable or dry-clean only. Check the label found inside the nylon jacket. It states whether the item can be washed or must be taken to a dry cleaner. Take the garment to the dry cleaner as soon as possible to ensure the stain doesn't penetrate the fabric any farther.
Step 6
If the jacket is machine washable, wash the garment with cold water and a liquid detergent.
Step 7
Remove the nylon jacket after the wash cycle, and inspect it. If the stain remains, repeat Steps 3 through 6.
Step 8
After the stain has been completely removed, leave the jacket out to air-dry.
