How to Remove the AOL Auto Dialer

If you're using an AOL dial-up Internet connection to connect your computer to the World Wide Web, you may notice that occasionally your software will automatically dial your access number. This is because the AOL auto dialer setting has been enabled in your computer's AOL software. Removing the auto dialer functionality involves disabling it in this utility.

Instructions

1. Open the AOL software on your computer. In addition to opening the AOL program window, this will place an AOL icon in your system tray.

2. Right-click the AOL icon in your system tray.

3. Click "Connectivity."

4. Click "AOL Dialer Settings." Clear all checked boxes in the "Connect to the Internet" portion of the on-screen window. Click "Save" to save your settings.
