How to Format a 720K Floppy Disk
A floppy disk is a portable device that you can use to store the files on your computer. To store files on a floppy disk, you have to format it first. Formatting prepares a storage device for use. Windows allows users to format their floppy disks for booting (MS-DOS) or file storage.

Insert a floppy disk into the computer's floppy disk drive.

Click the "Start" button and select "Computer."

Right-click the floppy disk drive and select "Format." This will open the "Format Floppy Disk" dialog box.

Type the name of the disk in the "Volume Label" box.

Select "Quick Format" to make the formatting process faster.

Create a bootable disk by selecting "Create an MS-DOS Startup Disk."

Click "Start" to begin formatting the disk.
