How to Translate French for Free Online

Easily translate French words, phrases or entire web pages online for free using readily available translation tools. Popular sites like Google and Yahoo have links and tools available to simplify any translation need. Search the web to have translations offered, or copy and paste or enter the text manually at designated translation pages. Translations are available from French to 50 most commonly used languages.

Instructions

1. Click the "Translate this page" link under any page written in French that you find when searching Google. The translated page will be generated for you.

2. Visit the Google Translate website. In the drop down box to the right of "From:" select "French" and next to "To:", select the language you need it translated to. Paste copied text or type the French word or phrase you need translated into the text box and click "Translate."

3. Go to the Yahoo! Babel Fish website. Enter the French text in the text box and from the drop down list at the bottom, select the language you need the text translated to. Translations are available by selecting the corresponding "French to" choice. You an choose Dutch, English, German, Greek, Italian, Portuguese or Spanish.

4. Enter a web page on the Yahoo! Babel Fish website. Choose the from and to languages under the web link and click "Translate."
