How to Install GBA SP Screens

Having your Game Boy Advance's screen crack can be frustrating. Not only does it make it harder, if not outright impossible, to see and play your games, but it makes your Game Boy Advance appear to be old and beaten up. While Game Boy Advances are no longer supported by Nintendo, replacing the screen yourself is a quick and easy job.

Things You'll Need

• Tri-wing screwdriver
• New Gameboy Advance screen

Instructions

1. Remove the five screws on the front of your Gameboy Advance's case. You will need a specialized tri-wing screwdriver to do this. There are three along the top, and one next to both bottom corners of the screen.

2. Pull off the top of your GBA's case. This can be accomplished by hand.

3. Remove the damaged screen. While the frame itself will pop out by hand, you will need to disconnect the ribbon display cable.

4. Follow the cable from where it plugs into the bottom of the screen to where it ends.

5. Push up on the tabs to disengage the clip holding it in, then pull it out.

6. Install the new screen by following the directions in reverse.
