How to Promote the Unity of FFA Districts
Future Farmers of America, or FFA, is a national organization designed to promote leadership in the agricultural community and promote awareness of the global importance of agriculture. Participation in the FFA is offered through the agricultural science classes at local grade schools and colleges. Each participating school district hosts its own local chapter of the FFA. Districts often compete against one another for awards and grants or in regional competitions. FFA officers can promote unity between districts by bringing nearby FFA district members together for charity or fun activities.

1
Assess the potential for gathering districts together in one place; identify an activity that groups can perform together. Larger cities will have a homeless population that groups can collectively serve on a soup line. Other areas may be able to volunteer at a nursing home to visit the elderly. Visiting a local farm and working together for one day can be another binding activity.
-
2
Bring the students together. Mix the districts by assigning students from different districts into teams. Assign the different teams to perform different tasks.
-
3
Eat together afterward. Sharing meals often bonds people together as it gives them a chance to talk and get to know each other beyond the task assigned.
-
4
Meet two or three times a school year so that students develop a sense of unity between districts as they get to know one another.
