Instructions

    • 1

Study a 12-inch wooden dummy and make a sketch of it on a clean piece of paper with a No. 2 pencil. The head should be a perfect oval, and the arms should be bent at its sides.

    • 2

Add curves to the mannequin drawing, including breasts and hips to give it a distinctive female look. Make sure to draw the legs long.

    • 3

Add finishing touches to your drawing at the end, such as hair or wig, and don't give the facial features any particular expression, as mannequins tend to lack that.

Tips & Warnings

  • Since you are using a 12-inch wooden dummy as a guide, please note that you can pose the dummy in any way you like. You can draw your mannequin with any pose as well, although mannequins usually have bent arms.

  • Avoid adding lifelike details to your drawing, since mannequins are not meant to look like real human women. This means no beauty marks, blemishes, nipples, fancy long nails and other lifelike details.
