How to Fix Sirius Portable Radio Problems

The Sirius portable radio is a hand held satellite radio player that provides audio playback wherever you are, and connects to your car's cigarette lighter and radio. Common problems with the Sirius radio include power issues, reception issues and sound issues, according to the official Sirius site. Thankfully, the device's issues are often due to improper connections rather than a flaw with the device itself, and therefore can be easily fixed.

Things You'll Need

• Sirius dock
• Sirius S50 or later
• Sirius cigarette lighter adapter
• USB connector cable
• Line out cable

Instructions

1. Plug the Sirius cigarette lighter adapter into the docking port on the bottom of the portable radio, and plug the other end into the cigarette lighter port to charge the device.

2. Carefully remove the media player from the dock, and gently place the media player back onto the dock to connect the device to the car.

3. Push the cigarette lighter adapter into the cigarette port to ensure the connection is secure.

4. Remove the audio connector cable from the headphone port of the Sirius radio, and reinsert it into the port. Check the cable's connection in the "Line Out" port on your car's radio to ensure it is properly in place.

5. Remove the media player from the dock, and connect the USB connector cable to the Sirius radio's docking port and your PC's USB port to fully charge it.
