Instructions

    • 1

Frost the entire cake with white icing.

    • 2

Use a cake decorator bag with a tip to draw a thick, curved line down one side of the cake with black icing, making it slightly pointed at the end. Fill in the line with additional black icing to create one solid, black zebra line. You can create your own black icing by mixing black gel, powdered food coloring or paste with chocolate or white icing until you achieve the desired color. You can also use blue food coloring with chocolate icing to achieve a rich black color.

    • 3

Repeat across the rest of the cake, leaving spaces in between each stripe to ensure there is a portion of white showing through. You can add as many or as few stripes as you want, and the stripes should be of slightly varying thickness and lengths for the best zebra print pattern.

Tips & Warnings

  • Change up the zebra pattern by reversing the white and black colors on the cake, or use different colors for the pattern.
