How to Make Things Out of Paper Lunch Bags
Brown paper lunch bags are inexpensive and plentiful. They can be used for much more than transporting lunch to and from school. Paper lunch bags can be transformed into crafts for all seasons. Whether you are making a craft for an entire class or with your children at home, brown paper lunch bags are the way to go. This project is designed for making one each of an Easter and Halloween decoration.

Instructions

Pumpkin Bag
-
1
Paint both sides of the brown paper lunch bag with the orange paint. Let the bag dry completely.
-
2
Paint two triangle eyes, one triangle nose and a mouth with the black paint on one side of the bag. This is a more traditional jack-o-lantern face. Paint a friendly or scary face depending on what you prefer. Allow the paint to dry.
-
-
3
Stuff the dry bag with crumpled up white tissue paper. This gives the bag the round look of a pumpkin. Fill it about 2/3 full of crumpled tissue paper.
-
4
Cut out two leaves from the green construction paper and use the sharp point of the scissors to make a hole in the top of each. Cut a 12-inch strip of curling ribbon and tie it once around the neck of the bag.
-
5
Thread the two leaves onto the loose ends of the curling ribbon and tie a knot to secure the leaves to the neck of the bag.
-
6
Curl the ribbon ends into pumpkin vines by running the ribbon along the scissor blade while pushing gently with your thumb. Decorate your classroom or home with these stuffed pumpkin bags.
Easter Bunny Bags
-
7
Paint two white ovals on the front side of the brown paper lunch bag for eyes. Once the white paint is dry, paint a black circle in the middle of each white circle for the bunny's pupils.
-
8
Paint an upside down pink triangle under the eyes for the bunny's nose. Paint two thin black lines extending down from the middle of the nose, in a "J" shape. One should be facing the right way and one should be facing the wrong way. This is the bunny's mouth.
-
9
Cut the pink pipe cleaners in half and hot glue three halves on each side of the mouth for whiskers.
-
10
Stuff the bunny bag with whatever treats you are giving.
-
11
Take a piece of pink tissue paper and cut it in half. Find the middle of the tissue paper and fold it down over your pointer finger to make a pointed top. This is the top of the bunny's ear. Repeat with the other half of the pink tissue paper and insert them in the top of the bag to look like bunny ears. You can secure them with tape if needed.
