      Pick up your DirecTV access card from a service center or wait for it to be sent to you -- options you are given when your DirecTV programming is changed. If a service center is nearby and you don't mind driving, you may want to spring for this method, as you'll receive the card faster.

      Press the "Power" button on the front of the DirecTV receiver. This turns off the equipment.

      Open the access card slot, located on the front of the receiver, and pull out the current access card.

      Slide in the new access card and power on the DirecTV receiver. The BIN files now upload directly to the receiver, unlocking the new television programming.
