How to Paint a Net
Painting and decorating nets can be a fun and creative way to add some texture and extra color to a room. Kids may enjoy using painted nets in a fishing-, sailing- or pirate-themed bedroom. Painted nets can also be used in nautical-themed bathrooms and dens. If you don't want a themed room, you can use them as textured backdrops on certain walls. The nets are versatile and can be painted virtually any color. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Spread out a large tarp on the ground. It's preferable to do this outside if it's possible. The sun will help dry the paint faster and the paint fumes won't be trapped inside your home.
-
2
Lay out your net over the tarp. Make sure the net is stretched out and you can see all of the mesh.

3
Put on your pair of rubber gloves and get your can of spray paint. Thoroughly shake the can of paint before starting. Hold the can approximately 6 to 8 inches from the net and spray the entire net. Every couple of minutes, shake the can again for approximately 10 seconds.
-
4
Pick up the net--after allowing the paint to dry--and turn it onto its other side. Now spray this side of the net.
-
5
Allow the paint to dry on the net. Dry times will vary depending on the type of paint used, the material of the net and the environmental conditions. At a minimum, the paint will usually take around an hour to dry. At most, it will take several hours, and in rare cases even up to a day. Once dry, it will be ready for use.
