How to Make a Pot of Scottish Tea

How to Make a Pot of Scottish Tea thumbnail
Tea is often served with small, delicate pastries, but Scottish tea requires a stronger pastry like a scone or biscuit.

Numerous cultures around the world have been making tea for generations. Essentially, the process consists of boiling the leaves of specific plants or flowers into water to make a beverage with a variety of health and mind benefits. Scottish tea is no different. It brings the rustic atmosphere of the Highlands to your teapot with a robust flavor and a potent effect. Making Scottish tea is straightforward as long as you have the right kind of tea leaves. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase some Scottish tea leaves from a distributor of authentic Scottish teas such as Brodies or Scottish Blend, which sell teas online and over the phone to customers around the world.

    • 2

Bring your water to near boiling in a teakettle over a medium-high heat. Make sure that the water does not get to a rolling boil, as this can burn or spoil the leaves of the tea. Once it is near boiling, reduce the heat to a medium-low setting.

    • 3

Steep the teabag in the teakettle of hot water for about 10 minutes while keeping it on medium-low heat. Because Scottish tea is stronger than many other teas, it will take longer to steep. A normal tea blend will only take three to five minutes to steep properly, but to get the maximum effect of Scottish tea, it will need to steep for much longer.

    • 4

Remove the teabag after it is done steeping, and serve the tea. Steep a new bag of tea for each pot of water larger than 2 qt. This way, the tea will always be at maximum strength and not lose any of its considerable potency.
