Scrabble Tile Pendant Tutorial
When looking for ways to save money, it can be tempting to give up looking fashionable in order to cut back on expenses. 1
Create a proper workspace by clearing a well-lit area with a flat surface. The entire process will take about three days to complete, so choose a location that will be out of the way.
-
2
Choose the design for your pendant. Any type of scrapbook paper, wrapping paper or decorative artwork you like will make for a good design. Remember that a scrabble tile is 17 mm by 19 mm so the design must be exactly that size.

3
Cut out your design using an X-acto knife or scissors, but leave some excess around each edge so you can hold on to the paper while you glue it to the scrabble tile. Using a template will ensure the most accurate cuts, but it is not necessary.
-
4
Apply a thin, even layer of tacky glue to the scrabble tile and glue your image to one of the sides. Gluing your image to the side with the letter will keep the letter hidden, but the imprint of the letter may show up in your image. Therefore, most people glue their image to the back of the scrabble tile.
-
5
Set the tile image-side down and allow at least 30 minutes for your glue to dry. Check to see if the glue is dry before continuing.
-
6
Trim away the excess paper using your knife. Be careful not to cut the wood on the tile.
-
7
File down the rough edges of the tile with your metal filer until all the sides are smooth.
-
8
Seal the image on your paper with Mod Podge. Apply a thin layer using a small paintbrush. Check on the tile hourly while it dries.
-
9
Apply diamond glaze to the image side of your pendant. Avoid shaking the bottle before using it; doing so will create bubbles in your glaze. Start by applying glaze around the outside of the tile, then work your way to the middle. If glaze runs down the side of your pendant, allow it to dry and file it off later.
-
10
Allow the glaze three days to dry. Periodically check your pendant to see if it is drying properly. Apply another coat if necessary.
-
11
Glue the bail to the other side of the pendant using super glue or another type of strong adhesive to complete your pendant. After about 15 minutes, the glue will be dry and the pendant ready to be attached to a chain.

Tips & Warnings
Draw your own artwork to personalize your pendant.
Cover your workspace with wax paper to prevent the glue or glaze from damaging the surface and ruining your project.
