How to Stop Hallucinations on Ragnarok Online
Ragnarok Online offers players a vast virtual world to explore, with thousands of spells, weapons and items to use. In Ragnarok's world, there are also a plethora of monsters that attack your character. For a new player, it's difficult to learn the basics for dealing with monster attacks. One confusing part of game-play is "hallucinations." This spell can only be cast by non-player characters (NPCs). When a monster inflicts hallucinations, the screen gets blurry. Hallucination spells confuse your character, causing random numbers to appear on the screen, similar to those that pop up to indicate damage. The hallucinated numbers do not harm your character, but they are distracting. There are a few ways you can stop hallucinations on Ragnarok Online.

1
Type "/effect" on the screen, and press the "Enter" key. This does not actually cure the hallucination spell, but this command removes the blurry effect from your screen. The randomized number sequences will continue to display until the hallucination spell is actually cured.

2
Cast the "Dispell" spell if you are a Sage character. A successful Dispell removes negative statuses, like hallucinations or poison. Unfortunately, Dispell also removes positive status effects, like health regeneration or magical armor. A first-level Dispell only has a 60-percent chance of success. With each additional level, Dispell gains another 10-percent chance for success (see Reference 1).

3
Use the "Battle Chant" ability if you are a Paladin character. The Paladin's Battle Chant ability randomly inflicts negative statuses on enemies, and it randomly applies a positive status to the Paladin and all his allies (see Reference 2). In order to apply the positive status, the negative hallucination status is automatically removed from the player when Battle Chant is cast.

4
Consume a "Panacea" item. This is a single-use, consumable item. The item instantly removes all negative ailments from a character. The item is rather rare, so use it sparingly. If you are just hallucinating, consider waiting until you are also poisoned, stunned, blinded or frozen, since this item has the power to remove all negative statuses. Giant Spiders and Mobsters are the most likely enemies to drop this item, with a 4.5-percent drop rate (see Reference 3). Firelock Soldiers, Penomenas, Nine Tails, Seals, Gigs, Hydras, Mummies, and Baba-Yagas also have a slim chance of dropping this item. The only other way to obtain a Panacea is through in-game purchases of randomized item boxes, or through trade.

5
Trade with other characters in town for a cure. One of Ragnarok Online's impressive features is its large marketplaces. Go to one of the game's virtual towns, and chat with other characters until you work out a deal. If you are not a Sage or Paladin, and you do not have any Panacea, you can barter with other characters to obtain a Dispell, Battle Chant or Panacea.
