Home Remedy for Brushing Dog Teeth
Dogs, like people, require proper oral care. By brushing your dog's teeth daily you can reduce tartar buildup and prevent tooth decay and gum disease. It is simple to make a homemade toothpaste with items generally found in your kitchen; however, to maintain an optimal level of oral health for your dog, you should have your veterinarian clean its teeth annually.
Things You'll Need
- Airtight container
- 6 tsp. baking soda
- 1/3 tsp. salt
- 4 tsp. glycerine
- 2 tsp. beef or chicken broth

Combine baking soda, salt, glycerine and broth in the container.

Mix the ingredients thoroughly until the consistency is similar to human toothpaste.

Tips & Warnings
Never use commercial toothpaste intended for humans on your dog. It may contain chemicals that can cause serious health problems.
