There are a limitless number of baby shower decorations available for hostesses to choose from, but you can show your affection for the mother-to-be as well as your crafting prowess by folding diaper napkins to use at the shower. The diaper napkins can be used as napkins during refreshment time, can hold a cellophane-wrapped gift bag of candy or, if made from washcloths, can be a gift for the mother-to-be herself. These napkins make a cute addition to any baby shower decor.

Things You'll Need

  • Paper napkins or washcloths
  • Small diaper pins

Instructions

      Lay your napkin or washcloth flat. Fold the napkin in half diagonally, matching up two corners, so that the napkin forms a triangle.

      Turn the napkin so that the tip of the triangle points down and the long edge is at the top.

      Fold up the tip of the triangle to meet the center of the top line of the triangle. Crease the fold.

      Fold the left and right sides in toward the center of the napkin, touching the tips of each end with the tip you folded up in the previous step. Crease these folds.

      Pin these three points together with the diaper pin. Add the diaper napkins to your table presentation or fill the centers of the napkins with utensils or party favors.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add beads or curly ribbon to the diaper pins for an additional festive look.

  • For favors, fill the napkins with mixed nuts, color-coordinated candy, cookies or animal crackers.
