How to Change My Domain Name Settings
The Domain Name System, or DNS, is the networking system that assigns website names to IP addresses. For example, when you type "google.com" into your Web browser, your computer asks the configured DNS server for the IP address assigned to "google.com" and connects directly to that IP address. DNS settings are normally obtained automatically from your Internet service provider or router, but you can define your own domain name system servers if you have a local DNS server or want to use a third-party DNS system with features such as filtering and logging.
