How to Get Krazy Glue Off a Corian Countertop

While the manufacturer of Krazy Glue recommends acetone to remove it from most solid surfaces such as countertops, the maker of Corian might disagree with this suggestion. DuPont, the maker of Corian, suggests that you avoid using strong chemicals such as acetone -- the active ingredient in nail polish remover -- on its counter tops. Try a gentler method, and buff the countertop when finished. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Hold a sharp razor blade carefully in both your hands. Pinch each end between your finger and thumb. Hold the sharp edge down, with the blade in a vertical position.

    • 2

Scrape back and forth gently and slowly over the Krazy Glue. After every few scrapes, feel with your fingertips to see if any residue is left. It may take several passes to get through the glue.

    • 3

After the surface is smooth, buff the area gently with an abrasive cleaner and abrasive cleaning pad. Work in a circular motion until you have buffed the entire countertop. Wipe with a damp cloth to remove any cleaner residue.
