How to Play a Sharp Z Vl-Z700 Tape on a PC

The Sharp VL-Z700 is a digital camcorder that is part of the Viewcam Z series from the Japanese electronics manufacturer.       Turn on your computer and open Windows Live Movie Maker. This is a free video editing program that is included with Windows Vista and Windows 7. If you have an older version of Windows, use Windows Movie Maker.

      Turn on the camcorder and move the mode dial to playback mode, which is indicated by the "Play" symbol.

      Click on the "Movie Maker" button and select "Import from device."

  • If you do not want to import the entire tape, select "Choose parts of the video to import" and use the controls on the camera to cue up the portion of the video that you want to import. Click "Import" to start importing and click "Stop" when finished.
