How to Put Custom Songs From a CD on "Guitar Hero 2"
"Guitar Hero 2" allows you to add custom songs from their music collection to the game. To do this, you will have to replace an existing song on the "Guitar Hero 2" song bank file.

Adding the Song to the "Guitar Hero 2" Bank

Insert the CD of the song you want to use into the computer.

Copy the song file to a location that will be easy to find. The song needs to be in MP3 format.

Right-click on your desktop, select "New" and choose the "Folder" option.

Give the folder a name related to "Guitar Hero."

Insert the "Guitar Hero 2" game disc.

Go to "My Computer," open the game folder and copy the files to the desktop folder you created.

Open "MAIN.HDR."

Open "Guitar Hero Explorer," and select "Add Archive." This may take a few minutes to populate.

Locate and download the .mid format of the song you want to add on Scorehero.com. Save it to a location that you will remember.

Choose a song you want to replace in "Guitar Hero Explorer," and expand the file.

Locate the .mid file for that song, and right-click to replace it.

Choose the .mid file you downloaded from Scorehero.com.

Right-click the .vgs file of the same song, and select "Import." A new box will open up.

Select "Add," and locate the MP3 song you saved.
Creating the New Disc

Create a "New DVD Master Disc" in CD-DVD Generator.

Copy the files from the "Guitar Hero 2" game disc in order: GEN, IOP, VIDEOS, SLUS_214.47

Enter "SLUS 21447" (without quotes) in the Disc Name field under the Volume tab.

Type "Playstation" (without quotes) under Producer Name, and click "Export .iml File."

Select "Create ISO from IML" in Apache using the .iml you just created.

Open your DVD burning software, and insert a blank DVD-R.

Locate the ISO file you created in Apache, and burn it to the disc using 4x quality. This will be the disc you use to play "Guitar Hero 2."
