Directions for a Belly Casting Kit
A belly cast is a sculpture made by applying plaster of Paris to your pregnant belly and allowing it to set. Making a belly cast is a unique baby shower activity or a bonding experience for an expecting couple to do together. If you prefer not to purchase all the materials for a belly cast separately, there are a number of kits on the market that provide everything you need. These kits are available online or in chain stores that sell baby items.
Instructions

1
Cover a comfortable chair with the plastic drop cloth included with your belly casting kit in order to keep any plaster from getting on the chair.
-
2
Coat the parts of the body being cast with lubricant. Some women choose to only cast their belly and breasts, while others hold their belly with their arms and cast their forearms and hands.
-
-
3
Cut the plaster bandage into strips in a variety of sizes. Long strips work well for going across the entire belly, while shorter ones fill in gaps.
-
4
Dip the strips one at a time into a mixing bowl filled with water. Lay them across the belly as soon as possible, as they will dry quickly.
-
5
Wait 30 minutes for the cast to set, then remove it by holding the top and bottom edges and gently lifting it away from the body.

Tips & Warnings
You will need to be undressed for the casting procedure. You may choose to wear an old bandeau bra that you don't mind ruining. Be sure to coat the bra with lubricant, just as you would bare skin.
