Instructions

    • 1

Locate the beehive at sunset. Bees return to the nest at sunset, so you should be able to locate the nest by following the extra bee activity.

    • 2

Position a light near the hive before trying to kill the bees. Bees may travel to a light shined on them at night, so fix the light so the hive is illuminated and approach the hive from another direction.

    • 3

Use a crow bar or similar tool to expose the hive. Take care not to make the bees angry while exposing the hive by moving slowly and trying to create as few vibrations as possible.

    • 4

Put about one cup of dish soap per gallon of water into a spray bottle. Spray the water onto the hive to douse the bees. The soap will close the pores on their bodies and suffocate the bees.

    • 5

Sprinkle some boric acid powder onto the hive. This will slowly poison the bees within a few days without poisoning any other animals. Boric acid is one of the most environmentally conscious ways to kill bees effectively. Repeat the soap and powder process once a night until the bees are gone.
