You can transfer files directly to a server from any computer system hooked up to the network.

The iSeries Server is an IBM-based device that allows computers connected on a network the ability to share data files. Anything uploading to the server may be accessed on any computer hooked up to the network. This is helpful if the server is running a small business or even a school system.

Instructions

    • 1

Power on the computer you want to transfer the data from.

    • 2

Locate the data file you wish to transfer to the iSeries Server. The file may originate anywhere on the computer system.

    • 3

Click "Start," "Computer," then double-click the iSeries Server hard drive icon. This loads a window that represents the network's hard drive.

    • 4

Click and drag the desired data file(s) into the open window. This transfers the data from your computer system directly to the iSeries Server.
