How to Make Plastic Zipper Pulls
Zipper pulls may fall off after being snagged on something, after yanking them too hard and sometimes as a result of normal wear and tear. Going out and purchasing a new zipper pull is entirely unnecessary as there are many household items that may be used to repair the zipper. Small plastic items are the best choices because they're durable and inexpensive.

1
Choose a small plastic item that you'll be using for your zipper pull. You may use plastic beads or small plastic figurines among various other items.
-
2
Slide a round, silver bead on the bottom of the headpin. This will prevent your plastic piece from sliding off of the zipper pull.
-
-
3
Slide the bead onto the pin or stick the pin through the center of a small plastic figurine. Add a second round, silver bead on top of the plastic item. This will keep the item in place.
-
4
Use scissors or wire clippers to clip off all but 1/2 inch of excess pin.
-
5
Clip needle-nose pliers onto the pin directly above your plastic piece. Loop the pin around the needle nose pliers by holding the plastic piece with one hand and twisting the pliers with the other.
-
6
Hook the coiled metal end of the pin onto the zipper clasp. Secure by squeezing the metal together with pliers.

Tips & Warnings
Coiling the pliers around the end of the head pin may take practice. It's likely that you'll go through several head pins before you get it right. Just remember to hold the plastic piece as still as possible when turning the pliers.
