Over time, wallpaper glue loses its bonding power, allowing the wallpaper to peel away from the wall. The seams in the wallpaper may begin to peel back, or bubbles may form if the air is not pushed out when the wallpaper was applied. Instructions

  1. Peeling Wallpaper

    • 1

Wet a sponge with water. Wipe the sponge over the peeling areas, moistening the wallpaper.

    • 2

Apply a small amount of wallpaper glue to a 1-inch paintbrush. Lift the peeling wallpaper to expose the underside. Brush the glue onto the underside of the wallpaper.

    • 3

Press the wallpaper back into place on the wall with your fingers. Rub the wallpaper with your fingers to remove any air bubbles and help bond the paper back to the wall.

    Wallpaper Bubbles

    • 4

Wet the bubble in the wallpaper with a moist sponge.

    • 5

Cut a V-shape in the bubble, or cut along a pattern in the wallpaper with a utility knife. Avoid cutting a straight line, which may be noticeable.

    • 6

Insert wallpaper glue into the cut area with a small artist's brush. Push the area with a damp sponge, removing the bubble and gluing the cut edges back down. Dry the area with a clean cloth.
