How to Create Funny Photo Christmas Cards
Nothing says "Merry Christmas" like a funny photo Christmas card. Whether it's a funny family photo you took while vacationing in Yellowstone National Park or a picture you snapped of a rather large hippopotamus with a small bird standing on its tusk, what makes Christmas cards so special is that they are personalized, made from the heart of its sender. And you don't have to spend a lot of time or money, as long as you have a just an ounce of imagination.

Do the unexpected and pick a funny pose. Rather than spending a small fortune posing for the standard Christmas portrait in front of a tired, old backdrop at a professional photography studio, think outside of the box. Do the unexpected and pick a funny, if not unusual, spot to pose, such as in a bathtub full of bubbles, hanging upside down from the monkey bars, ice-fishing in your pajamas, buried neck-deep in the sand on the beach, catching air while sledding down a powdery slope or on the street corner holding a sign that reads "Will work for presents." The trick to capturing a funny Christmas photo is by keeping your camera with you at all times. You never know when that perfect pose will present itself.

Pets are a great addition to Christmas card photos. Include your pets. Pets have an incredible knack for turning an ordinary photo opportunity into a priceless piece of family art. So invite your pet into the picture frame, encourage a little playful behavior, and before you know it, you've got a great close-up shot of your Labrador licking spaghetti sauce off the baby's face, your 12-year-old cat sparring with the new puppy, or your parakeet pulling at your bushy eyebrows.

Look for funny photo opportunies around you. Look for funny photo opportunities. Not all funny Christmas photos must include family members or pets. If you are the artistic type with a keen eye for art, you just may find funny photo opportunities that are lurking around you. For example, while strolling through the park, you might cross paths with a squirrel attempting to drink from a soda pop can, a tree stump that has a funny face or a flower blooming through a crack in the sidewalk.
You might get really creative and decide to manipulate photos with depth perception. For example, you can place one person close to the camera. Have that person hold her palm flat and facing upward. Then have another person stand back in the distance, just enough that it looks as though the person in the foreground is actually holding the person in the background in the palm of her hand. There's really no limit to what you can do.

Add funny sayings to your Christmas cards. Add funny sayings. Rather than offering the standard Christmas greeting, add a funny saying that plays off your Christmas photo. For instance, if you have a photo of your family bound tightly together with twinkling lights beneath a bare Christmas tree, you might add a fun little note that reads "This is what happens when you attempt to put a Christmas tree skirt on a lumbering 7-foot tree named Douglas Fir."
