Instructions

Bead and Flower Choker
-
1
Measure the circumference of the child's neck and subtract 3/4 inch from the measurement to account for the necklace clasp. Cut a length of 1/4-inch-wide ribbon to the measurement.
-
2
Place the length of beaded netting trim on a flat surface. Subtract 1/4 of an inch from the measurement obtained in Step 1 and cut the beaded netting trim at that length.
-
-
3
Lay the flower trim on the flat surface and cut it to the same measurement used in Step 2 to cut the beaded netting trim.
-
4
Spread a layer of fabric glue on the ribbon, stopping approximately 1/8 of an inch away from each end. Center the beaded netting trim on top of the ribbon and press firmly along the entire length to adhere the netting to the ribbon.
-
5
Place a small amount of glue on the back of each flower in the flower trim and align it along the top of the beaded netting trim. Press firmly on each flower to adhere it to the netting and ribbon. Allow the choker necklace to dry for one hour.
-
6
Attach the choker clamp to the necklace. Open the end of the choker clamp and slide it over one end of the ribbon. Once the clamp is on the ribbon, squeeze the clamp closed with a pair of chain-nose pliers. Repeat this step to attach a choker clamp to the other end of the ribbon.
-
7
Attach a necklace clasp ring to both of the choker clamps and then attach the clasp to one of the clasp rings.
Simple Ribbon Chokers
-
8
Measure the circumference of the child's neck and subtract 1 inch from the measurement. Cut a piece of 1-inch-wide double-sided ribbon to the measurement obtained. Seal the ends of the ribbon with a no-fray glue.
-
9
Attach a 1-inch-wide choker clamp to one end of the ribbon by sliding the ribbon into the opening on the clamp and then squeezing the clamp closed with the chain-nose pliers. Repeat this step for the other end of the ribbon.
-
10
Open one of the jewelry jumper rings with the pliers and hook the necklace clasp onto the ring. Attach the opened ring to one of the choker clamps and then squeeze the jumper ring shut with the pliers. Place a jumper ring on the other choker clasp by opening it with the pliers.
-
11
Attach another jumper ring to the first ring and then squeeze the first ring shut. Open another jumper ring and attach it to the second ring. Attach a fourth jumper ring to the open ring and then squeeze the open ring closed.
-
12
Repeat Step 4 to attach a total of seven jumper rings to the choker clamp.
