Check the drill hammer trigger switch -- located on the front of the handle where you grasp when drilling -- to make sure that it is locked in the "OFF" position before plugging it in. You can lock the switch into the "ON" position for convenience when drilling continuously.

Pull the switch trigger to start the hammer drill. To increase the speed, simply apply more pressure to the switch trigger. When you are finished using the hammer drill, release pressure on the switch to turn it off.

Take precautions when drilling through metal. Make an indentation in the area of the metal where you will begin to drill using a center-punch. Place a center-punch on the metal and firmly hit it with a hammer to indent the area. This will prevent the drill from slipping while in use. Put the hammer drill point into the indented area and proceed to drill the hole.

Tips & Warnings
Wear safety gear such as eye protection, a dust mask, non-skid shoes and a hard hat when operating a hammer drill.
Do not use a hammer drill near flammable substances. Sparks generally are created during the operation of the drill and may cause an explosion or start a fire.
