Nothing beats the smell of fresh biscuits baking in the oven. But making biscuits from scratch takes quite a bit of effort as most recipes require you to sift the flour, mix all of the wet and dry ingredients and knead the dough. You must also have all of the baking ingredients on hand to make them. Fortunately, using store bought pancake mix allows you to prepare tasty biscuits quicker and with a less effort and ingredients.   • Bowl
  • Buttermilk pancake mix
  • Stick of butter
  • Egg
  • Water
  • Spoon
  • Flour
  • Rolling pin
  • Biscuit cutter

Instructions

      Mix approximately two and a half cups of buttermilk pancake mix with a third of a cup of water, a quarter cup of melted butter and an egg. Use a hand mixer or a large spoon to stir the ingredients together for a few minutes.

      Roll out the dough. The mixture should be thick enough for you to easily handle. Sprinkle a tablespoon of flour onto the countertop or a large cutting board. Form a ball with the dough and place it on your countertop. Use a rolling pin to form a large, half-inch thick square of dough.

      Use the top of a tea cup, cookie or biscuit cutter to make approximately eight circles in the dough. Pull away the excess dough and put your biscuits on a large baking sheet. Bake the biscuits for up to ten minutes at 425 degrees Fahrenheit.

Tips & Warnings

  • For extra flavor, you can put toppings such as cheese, honey or butter on the biscuits as soon as you remove them from the oven.
