How to Upgrade to a 3DO CD-ROM Drive

On occasion, you may need to upgrade your video game.

3DO was an electronics gaming company that produced a large number of games for Windows computers. One of the most popular 3DO franchises was the Army Men games. These games are based on the green and plastic toy solders and 3DO produced numerous titles for the series. Regardless of the game you are using, most are CD-ROM drive based and require the occasional upgrade via patch download. These patches are obtained free of charge, and only take a few minutes to download because of their small size.

Instructions

1. Open your Internet browser and navigate to IGN.com. This is a game review website that provides download updates for all games, including 3DO games. 3DO is actually no longer in business, so the only way you can obtain upgrades for your games is through these sites.

2. Type in the title of your 3DO video game in the search bar and press "Enter." Click the game title once it is presented to you. This loads the game page into view.

3. Click the download next to "Updates" and the game patch update downloads to your computer.

4. Double-click the downloaded file to load the installation wizard. Follow the prompts of the wizard to completely install the upgrade patch to your 3DO, CD-ROM drive based game.
