How to Make CD Covers With Nero thumbnail
Creating covers for your burned CDs is a great way to keep your discs organized.

Nero Multimedia Suite 10 is a comprehensive software package that allows users to organize photographs and music, burn CDs and DVDs, create slideshows, and edit video. The software also includes the Nero CoverDesigner application, which can create CD covers and labels for burned discs. Whether you want to use a pre-made Nero template or design a CD cover from scratch, you can get creative with your cover design by including personal text and graphics.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to "Start," click on "All Programs" and select "Nero." Highlight "Nero 10" and open Nero CoverDesigner. When the design application opens, the "New Document" dialog box will appear on the screen.

    • 2

Scroll through the list of CD and DVD cover templates, and choose your desired template, such as "Standard," "Mini-CD" or "Slim Pack." If you are unsure of which template to choose, look at the front of your CD cover packaging. The cover type will be listed on the front of the package. After selecting the template type, select a cover style. Nero provides users with a variety of pre-made template cover styles, such as "Jazz," "Silhouettes" and "Disco." You can also design a custom CD cover by selecting the "Empty Document" option.

    • 3

Enter a title for your CD cover when the "Document data" window appears on the screen. The title will be inserted in the CD cover template. You also have the option to add a musician or band's name to the cover. Click "OK" when you're finished entering the title and artist's name.

Add a digital image to your layout by clicking on the "Object" toolbar tab, highlighting the "Insert" option and selecting "Image." Locate the digital image on your computer and click "Open." Depending on the size of your image, you may have to edit the proportions to fit properly on the CD cover template. You can resize the image by clicking and dragging the black squares on the corners and sides of the graphic.

    • 5

Add text to your layout by clicking on the "Object" toolbar tab, highlighting the "Insert" option, and selecting the "Text Box" option. If you place your mouse on top of the template, you will notice the "Abc" icon next to your cursor. Click on the template and drag the cursor to the left side of the screen. The text box will be inserted in the template and the "Properties" window will open on your screen. Enter your text and select a font, font size and font color. When you're finished editing your text, click on the "OK" button.

Click on the "Normal Paper" drop-down menu, and select your CD cover product, such as Avery, Memorex or Neato. If you are using a blank sheet of paper, you can leave the drop-down menu on "Normal Paper."

Click on the "File" tab and save your new design. When you're finished saving your design, place your blank CD cover page face-down in your printer, click on the "File" tab and select "Print."
