How to Clear Recent Searches on My Internet Explorer Tool Bar

Microsoft Internet Explorer automatically saves all of your Web searches and visited URLs. This can be useful when the Internet browser automatically shows your recent searches as you begin typing, in case you wish to revisit certain Web pages. This can, however, also create privacy concerns if other people use the same computer and browser. To prevent this, you can clear recent searches in your tool bars.

Instructions

    • 1

      Open Internet Explorer.

    • 2

Press "Ctrl," "Shift" and "Delete" on your keyboard. A window opens where you can set up your history clearance.

    • 3

Place check marks in the "History" and "Forms" boxes. "Forms" clears your tool bar's searches. "History" clears the websites you have been to, including those found from your tool bar searches.

    • 4

      Click "Delete."
