Beaded Necklace Directions
Beaded necklaces have a classic look that never seems to go out of style. They come in all sizes and colors, and can be worn on a myriad of occasions. Making your own beaded necklace can be not only fashionable, but fun as well. You should begin by imagining what type of necklace you want to create, including what color and style of beads you want, how long you want the necklace to be, and which size beads you want to use.

1
Thread your string through the ring of the safety pin.
-
2
Attach the safety pin to a cloth. This will provide a more secure anchor for your string while you add the beads. Pull both sides of the string up into a "V" shape, making sure that one side is somewhat shorter than the other side, to prevent them from lying on top of each other.

3
Add a few beads to the left side of the string, and then add the same number and same type of beads, to the right side of the string. This will ensure that the final pattern will be symmetrical, making it look more professional.
-
4
Continue adding beads, making sure to keep the patterns equal on both sides.
-
5
Thread one end of your string through a jump ring. This is a small ring, commonly used on necklaces. The clasp, which you'll attach later, will connect to this jump ring. Loop the string around and back through the jump ring, then tie a knot in the end of the string to secure it in place. Cut off any excess string that remains after the knot has been tied and the jump ring secure.

Thread the other end of your string through your necklace clasp. Loop the string around and back through the clasp, then tie a knot in the end of the string to secure it in place. Cut off any excess string that remains after the knot has been tied and the clasp is in place.
