How to install apps from the Mac App Store
The Mac App Store has over a thousand apps so far, with thousands more to likely come. Knowing how to install these apps can make your Macintosh infinitely more useful, and with so much new software being released daily, you're bound to find something that you're interested in. In fact, iOS developers (the creators of iPhone and iPad Apps,) are starting to port their apps, such as Angry Birds, to the Mac App Store to be used on Mac OS X 10.6.6.

Install OS X 10.6.6 with Mac App Store Update

Open "Software Update." Click the Apple symbol in your menu bar and choose "Software Update...."

Click "Install" and continue with the installation until all updates have been installed, including the 10.6.6 OS X update, which includes the Mac App Store.

Restart your computer, the restart will take a while, but is necessary to put the new 10.6.6 update in place. Once the update is complete, the Mac App Store will show up in your Dock.
Installing Apps from the Mac App Store

Open the Mac App Store from your Dock.

Click "Sign in..." from the top menu bar to sign in to your Apple account (connected to your payment information).

Find an app that you are interested in.

Click the "$x.xx BUY" or "FREE" button below the application's icon to start the purchase and installation.

Click "Confirm Purchase" if prompted. Your new app will be installed to your Applications folder and automatically dropped into your Dock.

Tips & Warnings
Be careful when allowing others to use your Mac; it is extremely easy to purchase applications, which can cost upwards of $79.99 each. If a child, friend or family member were to accidentally click "BUY," the price would be charged to your account instantly.
