How to Print Bible Scripture Cards for Children

Creating scripture cards yourself allows you to customize the features with monograms or family pictures to make them more personal and understandable. Instructions

    • 1

Make a list of scriptures you want to include on the cards. Use your computer to access an online version of biblical scriptures and print copies of the ones you need. Indicate possible symbolism or imagery you can use to represent each scripture teaching.

    • 2

Decide on the color scheme for the cards and purchase colored and white construction paper and craft materials including art supplies.

Open your computer's "Programs" folder or navigate from the "Start" menu to your preferred publishing or word processing program.

    • 3

Open your new blank document. Using a template program, you will need to manually delete the default elements on the card and rearrange the default features such as banners, text or graphic elements.

    • 4

Access the document page setup feature and resize the page to the proper business card format in a word processor or select the option for multiple prints or single prints per page for publishing programs. Adjust the page layout to your choice of horizontal or vertical positioning.

    • 5

Navigate to the text box creator in your drawing tools and create a rectangular text box at the top of the card. Type in the scripture reference for the card. Create a larger text box underneath this section for the verse you want to include from the scripture.

    • 6

Adjust the font size so that it can be clearly read. Left click on the finished text box and select "Format Text Box" to remove box lines or change font color, size or style for the text. Create the back image for the card in another square using the same process.

    • 7

Print the front and back of the cards using the card stock paper and alternating the colored paper used.

Check the pages to make sure the correct front and back is printed for each card, then lay them out to fully dry. Stack the sheets neatly and put them into a folder labeled with your name and contact number.

    • 8

Laminate the cards, then cut out each card using sharp scissors. Smooth out any rough or sharp edges.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can create several business card frames using the "Draw Shape" feature on your word processor as well.

  • When working with multiple graphic images and text boxes, left click each image or box while holding the "CTRL" key on your keyboard and select the option to group the elements as one whole piece. This allows you to move around the entire set of images on the page.
