You'll mostly focus on keeping the ring clean, as it often picks up dirt from people's hands when they get into and out of the pool. You may also need to clean leaves and other sediment along with algae from the pool as they build up. Finally, you will want to make sure the pool is clean before storing it at the end of the season. Wipe down the top ring with a damp cloth each time after you use the pool to remove dirt and prevent buildup. To remove stains, make a solution of water and mild laundry detergent in a bucket. Apply it to your cloth and rub the stain gently until it disappears. You will notice more buildup if your swimmers have food, suntan lotion or other substances on their hands when they get into and out of the pool.

Cover the pool with a pool cover when it's not in use to keep leaves and other debris from falling into the pool.

Use a pool vacuum to remove sediment and algae from the bottom of the pool. Use a pool skimmer to remove leaves and insects from the top of the pool. Purchase both of these items through your Intex dealer or a pool supply shop.
