How to Make a Pig Roaster Grill
Whether you want to roast a pig for your next luau or for a mid-summer barbecue, it is possible to build your own pig roaster. Choose a level area of ground on which to build the base of your pig roaster using cinder blocks. Make it five blocks wide by five blocks long. Set your base bricks on their sides so that the square clearings face outward. The fire will rest on top of these blocks, so you want the flat surface to face upward. It may be helpful to cover the top of the base with foil. Either aluminum foil or tin foil will work.

Build the sides of the pig roaster four blocks high around the base of the pig roaster. You will need 20 cinder blocks for each long side and 12 blocks for each of the short sides.

Locate two metal grates on which to roast your pig. The pig will be placed between the grates so that it can be flipped half way through cooking.

Build a fire on the base of the pig roaster using hot coals. Lay the metal grate on top of the fire and the pig on top of that.

Tips & Warnings
Roast your pig using the butterfly method in this pig roaster. Cut the pig in half down the middle. Make sure to place it between the metal grates so it can be flipped at the right time.
