Make a movie of your Counter Strike demo.

Counter Strike, known also as Half Life: Counter Strike or just CS, is a first person shooter online computer game where a gamer can play against other gamers on a network as a terrorist or a counter-terrorists in combat situations. CS has various versions, but if you want to make a movie of yourself playing the Counter Strike demo, you can do this in the same way for all versions. The process involves converting .dem (demo) to .avi (movie) files and requires additional software.

Instructions

    • 1

      Download Video Mach (see Resources).

    • 2

Start the Counter Strike Demo. When you want to start recording, type "startmovie mov" into the console followed by the number of frames per second (fps) you wish to record the screen shots. If you want to record 40 fps, for example, type "startmovie mov 40." To stop recording type "endmovie."

    • 3

Open Video Mach. From the file menu, open the folder where the screen shots are saved. Select all the screen shots, from the first to the last, and open them.

    • 4

Configure the output settings by saving the shots as "video only" in the file tab and selecting "avi" in the format box.

    • 5

Under Format Options, select either DivX or Xvid MPEG for playing your new converted movie. Click the disc icon to begin encoding. The movie will be saved in your specified folder.
