How to Learn Beaded Wire Art
Beaded wire art is simple to do if you have the right tools. There are many books that can teach you the craft of wire beaded art, for example "Bead on a Wire" by Sharilyn Miller, "Bead & Wire Art Jewelry" by J. Marsha Michoer or "Boutique Bead and Wire Jewelery" by Melody MacDuffee. Some websites will give you a lot of decent information. Local classes will also teach you basic techniques. For now, start learning how to do beaded wire art with a simple design of a rectangular beaded earring.
Things You'll Need
- Cell phone
- Pliers
- 22 gauge gold wire
- 26 gauge gold wire
- Large coral beads
- Small coral beads
Instructions

1
Wrap the 22-gauge wire around the cell phone from side to side to form a rectangle shape with the wire, being careful not to scratch the phone.
-
2
Meet the two wires at the side of the cell phone. Cross over the two meeting wires and twist them together. Cut off excess wire with pliers. Remove the now rectangular-shaped wire from the cell phone.

3
Measure out about 20 centimeters of 26-gauge wire. Line this wire up to the bottom of the rectangle-shaped wire and start coiling it around it so that it is attached to the rectangle shape. Cut off the excess coil end with pliers, leaving the rest of the 26-gauge wire free.
-
4
Drop a coral bead through the 26-gauge wire, then wrap the wire around one side of the rectangle wire. Add another bead and wrap the wire around the other side in a zig-zag motion.
-
5
Add some smaller beads to the wire if you wish. Continue to wrap the wire around the rectangle shape, adding more beads, until you reach the top of the rectangular shape.
-
6
Take the end of the 26-gauge wire and wrap it around the top end of the rectangle where the two ends of the 22-gauge wire have been twisted together. Create a small loop to attach to the earring hook and wrap downwards; then cut excess off with pliers.
-
7
Twist the wires on the inside of the rectangle on which the beads are hanging with pliers by gently plucking and bending the wire to tighten it as much as possible.
-
8
Add an earring hook to the top to the rectangle by taking a wire and hooking it through the small hole at the top of the rectangle and twisting.
