How to Troubleshoot a Roomba 4230
The Roomba 4230 may not operate correctly in your home if you don't select the correct settings or set it up to make it easier for the Roomba to navigate. This vacuum cleaning robot uses a scheduler that you set so it knows when to clean. If you use the additional virtual walls you can choose what rooms the Roomba cleans and what ones it doesn't. These components along with the battery and the Roomba's sensors may cause problems if not correctly used. Although even when correctly used, you may still experience problems and have to contact iRobot for assistance. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Set the Roomba's battery correctly on it if the battery does not appear to charge. You should hear two clicks when you insert the battery. The green light on the charging brick should light up and the power indicator should pulse. If not, also try plugging the charger into the Roomba robot.
-
2
Clean the cliff sensors underneath the Roomba's bumper with a cotton swab or compressed air if the Roomba repeatedly starts and stops or spins in place.

3
Plug in the home base. Check that the power light is on and keep it on a flat, even surface if Roomba has a difficult time getting back to the home base. If your home is large, finding the home base may prove more difficult for the Roomba. Reposition the home base until Roomba is able to return to the home base easily.
-
4
Place your Roomba 8 feet away from the home base if it does not respond to Scheduler commands. Turn off any Virtual Walls. Point the Scheduler at Roomba while using it.
