If you are setting up a full drum set you will need to know the correct procedure used to mount the tom tom drum on top of the bass. Some drum sets have multiple tom tom drums; this procedure will describe how to mount one. Drum set assembly can be confusing for beginners at first, but after you have performed this task once, you should have no problem completing it again in the future. This part of the overall assembly process is not very time consuming but it will take longer for sets with additional tom tom drums.

      Slide the metal tube attached to your tom tom drum into the mounting slot on top of the bass drum. Move the tube up or down until you reach your preferred height level for the drum. Tighten the screw located on the side of the mounting slot.

      Rotate the screw that connects the tom tom drum to the tube clockwise until the drum is secure.

      Slide the joint of the mounting arm back and forth to position the drum at your preferred angle. Most drummers tilt their tom tom drums forward to make playing easier and more comfortable for long periods of play.

      Twist all of the locking nuts on the drum mounting clockwise with your fingers and the drum key.

      Repeat the steps above to mount any additional tom tom drums that came with your drum set.
