Rapid weight loss can be a victory in terms of personal health and lifestyle goals, but it can be the source of a new and unexpected problem. Losing a large amount of weight may leave the skin loose and in need of firming. If you want to tone and firm the muscles of your face, facial exercises are one possible remedy. Facial exercises are designed to stimulate circulation and relieve tension, as well as firm and slim the contours of the face.

Instructions

Stand in front of a mirror to practice your facial exercises. As you begin this regimen, the mirror will help you locate the correct facial muscles to work and ensure that you are stretching and exercising them properly.

Exercise the muscles of your forehead. Place your index fingers just above your eyes and pull down on your eyelids while raising your eyebrows. Do 10 repetitions.

    • 3

Exercise the muscles around your mouth and lips. Pucker your lips tightly, then release. Optionally, close them around one finger to provide something for your lips to push against. Pull your mouth into a grimace, stretching the mouth as far outward and down as you can. Do 10 repetitions of each exercise.

Exercise the muscles of your cheeks. Place the index, middle and ring fingers of each hand on your cheeks and push them down into the skin. At the same time, smile as fully as you can, tightening and lifting your cheeks upward. Keep your head back during this exercise. Do 10 repetitions.

Exercise the muscles of your neck. Sit up with your spine straight. Tilt your head back to gaze at the ceiling. Keep your mouth relaxed and your lips closed. Extend your lower lip and move it as far over your top lip as you can. Hold for 10 seconds, then relax. Do 10 repetitions.
