Find the area of your swimming pool where you suspect there might be a hole. Some common places are around the filter or any light fixtures or the area where the ladder is taken in and out.

    • 2

Place several drops of a dark food coloring into the water where you believe the hole might be. If you see the dye rushing out, then you've found the hole.

Put drops of dye into the water near the top from outside the swimming pool if you're not sure where the hole is. Continue to put in drops and work your way around the pool.

Get into the water with goggles on if you did not find the hole near the top edge of the swimming pool. Continue squirting dye lower and lower in the water and around the pool until you see it rush out.
