How to Disable SSL 2.0

SSL 2.0 is a second generation version of the SSL certificates that are downloaded to your computer from secure Web pages. By default, your Internet browser will download all three versions (from 1.0 to 3.0) of these certificates to your computer. If you'd like to disable SSL 2.0, you can manually reconfigure the way your browser treats this information.

Instructions

    • 1

      Open Internet Explorer.

    • 2

Select the "Tools" menu from the top of the window.

    • 3

Click "Internet Options" to open the identically named utility.

    • 4

Click on the "Advanced" tab at the top of "Internet Options." In this window, clear the check to the left of "Use SSL 2.0."

    • 5

Click "Apply." SSL 2.0 is now disabled.
